Founder & Lead Provider
Meet Vernisha
Vernisha Chambers Douglas, MSN, CRNP, PMHNP-BC
Vernisha Chambers Douglas is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of nursing experience across a variety of healthcare settings. Throughout her career, she has worked in multiple areas of nursing, gaining a deep appreciation for the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and mental health.
Over time, Vernisha discovered that her true passion was mental health care. She recognized that many patients were not just seeking treatment—they were seeking to be heard. In her experience, individuals often felt rushed, misunderstood, or judged during moments of vulnerability. She realized that healing frequently begins with something simple yet powerful: a listening ear and a nonjudgmental presence.
These experiences shaped her approach to care and inspired the creation of MHMATTERS365.

Why MHMATTERS365 Exists
MHMATTERS365 was born during a season of deep reflection—a time when I was confronted with the reality of how much unkindness and pain exists in the world, and how often that pain goes unaddressed.
I kept thinking about all the people who are struggling, who are hurting, who are acting out of their own unmet needs—and how easy it is for the world to respond with judgment instead of compassion.
"Hurting people need understanding, not criticism. They need support, not shame. And they need someone willing to sit with them in their pain without trying to rush them through it."
— Vernisha Douglas, Founder
That realization became the foundation of this practice. I wanted to create a space where mental health care feels human—where we recognize that behaviors often reflect unmet needs, not character flaws, and where healing isn't one-size-fits-all.
At MHMATTERS365, we believe that mental health matters every single day—not just when things reach a crisis point. And we're committed to providing care that reflects that belief.
